When using a Pintle Ball combination hitch like the # PH1 , a certain amount of slack is inevitable because the opening is much larger than if you were using a standard pintle hitch. If you're not already using the 2-5/16" hitch ball, I would recommend using that. The other thing you could try is using the smallest Inner Diameter Lunette Ring like the Demco # DM09557-81 , which has a 6" outer diameter/3" inner diameter and will generally take up more space in the Pintle Ball combo hitch... view full answer...

If your trailer has come off of your 2 inch trailer ball one of two things are happening. Either the coupler of your trailer is designed for a 2-5/16 inch ball or the latch of your coupler isn't functioning.

If your B&W Tow & Stow Pintle Hook, like part # BWTS10055, has some play in the shank when you are stopping and taking off then it sounds like you need an anti-rattle device that helps limit the ball mount from moving. I recommend checking out the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 which fits 2" trailer hitches and uses a spring, block, and threaded hitch pin that pulls the shank up against the inside of the hitch receiver.

You used terms that are not compatible. You have a 5th wheel hitch which will have pin box with a king pin which is very different from a pintle hitch and lunette ring which would be a bumper pull industrial style trailer.
For your pin box, it is likely that there is not enough weight on the pin box which is likely partially due to the kayaks on the back even though they are light but your entire trailer is light so it does make an impact. You can move more weight toward the front... view full answer...
